how can i delete my store if a third party set it up and never set me as an admin?
If you have no admin access you cannot delete the store.
May I know reason please?
Hello, @morganscorner .
Only the person assigned as the account owner is able to delete an account. Are you able to reach out to this third-party vendor and request to be applied as the new account owner? Are you able to login into this account at all?
If you can get in touch with this person, then the steps they need to follow to assign you as store owner are:
- Log in to your store as the store owner.
- From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Users and permissions.
- Click Transfer ownership.
- Enter the email of the new store owner. If the new store owner isn’t existing staff, then you need to enter their name, too.
- Enter your password to confirm the change.
- Click Transfer store ownership.
If and when you are assigned as the account owner, then the process you need to follow for store closure is:
- From your Shopify admin, click Settings, and then click Plan and permissions or Account.
- In the Store status section, click Sell or close store.
- Click Close store.
- Enter your password to continue.
- Select a reason from the drop-down menu and then click Close store.
- To confirm that your store is closed, you can go to your store’s URL and see that your store no longer appears.
- If you have any third-party apps that have your payment information outside of Shopify, then cancel your service with those apps to avoid being billed externally after you close your store.
If for any reason you are not able to get in touch with this third party, and so cannot be assigned as the new account owner - then in this case you will need to reach out to our live support for their advice on next steps to take to close the account. Our live support can be reached via our support portal here. Simply select the relevant topics until the live support options appear, you will then be connected to a live support agent. I trust this helps, thank you!
