I am brand-spanking new to selling products through here. So I am still learning.
I made an order for my product from my Shopify store, just to see what the process looked like before making my shop live, which went okay. Until I saw none of the money from this order went to the manufacturer, and none of it went to shipping. I had to pay for the order. Is there a way to have the manufacturing cost go straight to them, and what ever is left over comes to me? Or, is this how it always is: customer pays me for the product, and I pay the manufacturer to make it, and ship it?

Shipping will always be a separate charge not retrieved from your order payout because it is a third-party charge from a shipping carrier, so you will be charged shipping via your credit card. The same would go for your manufacturer, as our payment gateway isn’t set up to receive payment and then pay a third party.
Are you located in the USA? If so, I recommend looking into Shopify Balance. It is a free business account to manage your store’s finances and would allow you to retrieve payouts faster and pay your shipping and manufacturing fees all from one card.

I am based in Canada, but manufacture through Printful, which I believe is based in the USA. What would my options be that way?
At this time, it’s just printed pieces with my business logo.
With that being said, I have billing info put into Printful. This probably is not the place to ask, but I’m going to ask anyway. A customer places an order, the money that they paid for their product then comes to me in the form of a payout. Printful will then automatically charge my credit card for the product(s) purchased, as well as shipping?
I’m sorry for being a pain, I just have no idea how to operate this.

Yes, you are correct. Are you using Shopify Payments as your payment gateway? If so, the money from the order will come to you as a payout, and then Printiful will bill you for the product. Shipping is separate depending on how you set it up in your store.
