How can I disable product scheduling on Shopify?

Is there a way to turn off product scheduling, other than choosing active when loading the product? It is tedious to have to check on loading individual products at only half hour intervals, rather than ensuring that they can go live immediately they are completed just as it used to be before the “improvement”.

Hey, @jansin .

Tira here to help. That would be tedious to do!

It sounds like you want to publish several products on your store at once. If that’s right, I recommend using our bulk editor. Our bulk editor allows you to select multiple products, and apply several actions to them at once, so that you can save time from making changes to your products individually. Check out our help doc with the steps to select items in the Bulk Editor here.

Once you’ve selected your items, you can choose to publish your products by following the steps here: Choose a bulk action to perform in your Shopify admin.

Here’s a list of actions you can take with the bulk editor.

I would love to know if this helps you accomplish what you want to do.

Hi Tina,
Thank you. I am familiar with the bulk editor. My question relates to the Active and the schedule Publishing features and I wonder if I am now making it more complicated than required. When I duplicate a product and change the necessary details, if I simply choose Active status does it publish immediately or must I schedule it to publish as well? Since this feature appeared I have been choosing active and then also scheduling for publishing on the next available time. As it only publishes in half hour increments it means going back to check all is ok. Is scheduling is a feature only to be used if I don’t want it to publish immediately?
In other words, if I choose Active status, and do not schedule the product at all will it publish immediately once I Save?

Thanks for clarifying what you want to do, @jansin .

I see how this would be confusing. When you are scheduling the availability for a product to publish on the online store, you can click on “Schedule Availability” from the Shopify admin, and a window will pop up with times and dates where you can schedule your product’s future publishing:

If you click on the green button, “Schedule availability” then that will automatically schedule the product to publish at a later date/time.

If you click on the dropdown with the times, and the time intervals listened aren’t what you want, you can type in the time that you do want, like this:

If you want to publish the product immediately, selecting the Product Status to Active and the product will automatically publish on your Online Store.

Here is a screenshot of what this looks like from my test store:

Let me know if this is what you were looking to accomplish.

This solution doesn’t work.

My product is active, yet it still has the “schedule availability” option.

Even when I select a time to schedule availability for the product, after the time pasts, it still does not publish.

Did you sort this out. Mine is doing the same

Mine was active and published. I went back in because I suddenly couldn’t see my product on the site and noticed the schedule button which I have never noticed before. I clicked on that and am waiting to see if it comes back on to my site. Why did it change when the product has been on the site now for weeks?

I’m having the same issue and no one seems to know how to fix it. Is it a glitch? My items are available but now all of a sudden they need to be scheduled and even doing that does not work.

Mine too. Is showing active yet not, yet requiring a scheduled date. Strange thing is that the product is showing in my storefront. Any solution to this yet?

I am having this same problem. The answer said if you have “Active” selected it will publish immediately - this is completely False! At least it is NOT showing up in the site “Search” at all!

And why does it still have “schedule availability”, IF it is set on Active..? I don’t recall it doing this previously…? Will anyone from Shopify please address this glitch??

Mine too turned off and and on keeps wanting ri set to future tune even if I shows earlier and save when I look back still says to schedule in the preceding next time slot

I’ve been adding them in on my phone and that seems to work

None of these options work, even trying it on the phone. It won’t even publish when it says it will publish. It just keeps putting the time forward. So frustrating!

Not for me

this solution does not work. Set to active and still not published as the schedule overrides it. Please fix

Did anything work for anyone? I’m having the same issue.

I have this issue as well, can somebody please address it?

Hey, I had to chat with the customer service 3 times and finally one person identified the issue.
in my case, it showed active and the schedule availability icon was showing but the product was not visible on the store.

All I had to do was create a product page for each product on my website which I had imported as a new theme from another account.

The solution provided doesn’t work. All items are publishing to the site but not to the specific collection. The scheduled publishing is causing a confliction and needs to be fixed.
