How can I turn off the Payment section? We create a manual transaction internally so I don’t want payment captured when the customer submits an order. Please advise.
Hello There,
If you would like to disable Shopify Payments, you can go through the following steps:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
- Click Manage on the Shopify Payments section.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page, then click the Deactivate Shopify Payments button.
Is there any particular reason why you wanted to remove Shop Pay from your store? If you’re unaware, it does offer significant benefits as well. With Shop Pay, your customers are able to quickly complete their order in your store as they have the option to have their email address, credit card, and shipping and billing information saved. Having this option elevates the customer experience on your website and the convenience it presents can boost conversions.
Let me know if this helps! Cheers

Hey, @one1nine ! Welcome to Shopify Community!
While there’s no way to disable the payment page, there’s a workaround you can do to bypass the payment at checkout. You can activate a manual payment method so you can arrange a custom payment method that doesn’t require the customers to place their payment within the checkout. To do this, you can follow the steps below.
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
- Scroll to the Manual payment methods.
- Click Add manual payment method.
- On the dropdown menu that appears, select one of the suggested manual payment methods or create a custom method by clicking Create custom payment method.
- Fill in the required details.
- Click Activate money order.
When a customer selects a manual payment method, there will be an option to send an invoice directly from the order page, so the setup is fitting to your order process. You may find a guide on how to send an invoice on this page.
If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to inform your customers about the order process so they know what to expect when they get to your checkout. You can add information about it to a FAQ page.
