How can I display dollar currency at the checkout page of my online store?

Hi, my name is Laurinda. My shopify store is based in south africa but I am shipping only in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. So my store currency is Dollars. That is the currency displayed on my products in the store. But when I proceed to checkout and I’m at the step where I need to put in my bank account details, it is displayed in Rand. For example, if a product is $8 it will show as R8 and only ask the customers R8, and I loose $8 then, I don’t want my store to show Rand anywhere… how can display dollar still at my checkout page at the last step. ?

Hi, @LaurindaH

Thanks for posting to the Community Forums.

It sounds like you have your front end currency set to USD, GBP, and CAD. However, your store’s currency under Settings > General in your Shopify Admin is set to R8. If this is the case, you will need to reach out to our live advisors to assist you with adjusting this setting.

Currently, as you’re using a third party gateway it’s possible you can only use one currency when checking out. If this is the case, I recommend using USD as your store’s currency. This will allow your customers to view their currency when browsing, however, at checkout it will revert to USD. What gateway are you currently using?

For help adjusting your currency, please visit our Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request through live chat, email, or callback. Once you have logged in to your account, type your request in ‘Ask about a topic’, scroll down to ‘Get Support’, and then click ‘Continue.’ You will then see the option for live chat or call-back.

In the meantime, I’d love to take a look at your store and see what additional support I can provide. When you have time please send your store’s URL so I can take a peek.
