How can I display the unit price instead of the variant price on collection pages?

Topic summary

A user working with Shopify’s Dawn theme wants to customize product pricing display across different page types.

On collection pages, they want to show only the unit price (e.g., price per 100g) instead of the total variant price. This is because their products have unusually large size variants, and displaying unit pricing would better communicate value to customers.

On product pages, they want to maintain the current setup showing both the full product price and the unit price together.

The unit price feature already exists in Shopify’s product settings and displays correctly on product pages, but the user needs help modifying the collection page template to show unit pricing exclusively. Screenshots were provided showing the desired unit price format and current product page layout.

A support team member initially suggested contacting Shopify Support, though this appears to be a theme customization question requiring Liquid template modifications rather than a core Shopify feature issue.

Status: Unresolved. Another user has commented with a similar need for measurement-based pricing (/m), indicating this is a common requirement.

Hi,

I’m using the Dawn theme, and I would like to display product pricing as “price per 100g” on collection pages if a unit price is set for a specific product. However, on the product page, I want to show the normal pricing with the final product price prominently displayed and the comparable price per 100g visible as well.

How can I achieve this?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Mikael1

Could you please elaborate on it further? I do not quite get your point.

If possible, please share the relevant screenshot as well.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!

Hi, sorry for not being clear. What I meant is that I want products prices to show in collections pages like this: These are the unit prices that I’ve set for products per 100g.

For product pages I would have both price and unit price, like I do now:

This is because we have a lot of products with unusually big size variants and we want to demonstrate these prices in collections pages by showing the prices for 100g, not for 300g or whatever some of our products have.

Hi @Mikael1

You should contact Shopify Support Team instead since it’s the variant feature from the product setting. I do not quite get your idea about the “Price Unit” here but I think Shopify support team can help you with this part.

Hope you can kindly understand. Thank you!

I mean he Unit price shows up in admin product pages and in product pages. I need this to show in collection pages, but without the regular price itself.

Did you find a solution for this? I’m having the same issue but then with measurements. I want the /m price to be the default price instead of the total price.
