How can I easily identify and delete unused images on my website?

In the process of building our site, we uploaded and experimented with LOTS of images. Often multiple versions with slightly varied cropping. SO, besides the 1000+ Product images, we have numerous versions of the images that are part of our landing pages (on the “Files” page they look too similar to discern which is live). I’d like to purge the unused images and download the pictures we are actually using on the site for archive and repurposing. Is there an easy way to find the images that are used and purge the unused versions?

This is very important. See also https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/can-i-see-which-image-files-are-currently-in-use-in-my-store/td-p/1243016

I am building functionality for searching for used images in Filetastic app, will let you know when it’s ready

For anyone interested, Filetastic has now ability to search for used files in your store. It’s still in beta, so if you encounter some issues, drop me a message through in-app chat widget :slightly_smiling_face:
