How can I easily migrate subscriptions from ReCharge to Shopify?

Hey all,

Now that Shopify offer a subscriptions solution we were wondering if there’s an ‘easy’ way to migrate subscriptions/date from ReCharge into Shopiy’s own solution?

Any links or documentation would help.

Cheers,

ReCharge does have a version that integrates with Shopify’s checkout.

You have to check your own eligibility. Whether or not a migration can take place and you can use the integrated version.

But is there any reason why we’d pay for something Shopify can do natively? And if so, the question around migration remains. We’d rather just use Shopify’s native functionality where at all possible.

Sorry what is your question?

No worries. The question is, is there a way to migrate all existing customer data from re-charge INTO Shopify’s native solution. Being that Re-Charge are more or less the only people in this space, I thought someone may have done this already considering Shopify’s latest update to enable subscriptions.

Hi @PourandSip ,

This new Subscription thing Shopify came out with is within their API. It’s so app developers don’t have to create an alternate checkout page. You will still need an app like ReCharge it’s not like it’s now built in your admin or something.

ReCharge made a new version that instead of sending you to an alternate checkout the order is processed on native checkout. The link I sent was your eligibility whether you can use that new version or not.

If you want to export all your ReCharge data and use it in another app that is definitely possible. If you’re looking for an alternative to ReCharge there’s this app category you can explore:

Hi,

This is Anubhav from Loop Subscriptions.

Yes. You can migrate your existing customer data from Recharge to a lot of new native Shopify subscription apps. Almost all of them offer this service- Some free, some paid.

We offer a white-glove migration service for brands looking to migrate from Recharge for free.
Here is a story of how we did it for one of our brands: https://stories.loopwork.co/dlg-migration/

I too would like to migrate my subscriptions from ReCharge over to Shopify native subscription app. I’ve been trying to work on this for at least two months. It is almost impossible to get a straight answer from their customer support. They simply do not know how to navigate customers through to this process. Please let us know if you find a way.

Hi, the same thing happened to me as to you. I have been searching and trying to migrate for a while now up to a weeks. I found some guys on another help forum who have taken it upon themselves to do this migration for me. Everything went well and as I expected luckily, their website is https://subscriptionshift.com/. I hope they will be of help to you too!

Are they Shopify partners? I’m glad I reached out to this forum, since it was so old I almost didn’t. And it gave you an opportunity to post a solution here because I know lots of people need answers to this very problem. Shopify chose the worst time to get rid of their live customer service with such a huge update release, it just didn’t make sense. I would give them a try

I don’t know if they are a Shopify partner but I assume they are. I gave them access to my recharge app and my online store as a partner and they took care of migrating all my active subscriptions. It is also important that before I paid anything, they did a test migration of 5 subscriptions to verify that everything was working correctly
