How can I edit or delete metafields in the theme editor?

Hey,

I am so new to all this and I hope I didn’t mess anything up. I created metafields in the theme editor but I cannot delete/ edit anything about them once created. I do not see them listed in settings> custom data. What did I do and how do I fix it?
