How can I edit the Featured Collection and default home page?

Hi Shopify Community,

I’m almost done building my site but I can’t for the life of me work out where to edit the “Featured Collection” page or the generic “Talk About your brand” text that is my default page.

Can you please point me in the right direction?

Also, if possible, please advise how I change my default home page? Link to my Shopify store below.

Hey, @minxmanxdesigns ! Welcome to Shopify Community!

You can edit the homepage, including the Featured collection, and Talk about your brand sections, of your Simple theme through the theme editor. Feel free to follow the steps and refer to the images from my test store below to edit those two sections.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Click Customize beside the Simple theme to open the theme editor.

  3. On the left sidebar, click Featured collection.

  4. On the right sidebar, you can edit the Heading by changing the text on the text box and change the collection by clicking Change > Change collection. If you wish to remove the section, you can click Remove section at the bottom.

  5. Once you’re done editing the Featured collection section, click Rich text on the left sidebar to edit the Talk about your brand section.

  6. On the right sidebar, you can edit the Heading and Text by changing the text on the appropriate text boxes. If you wish to remove the section, you can click Remove section at the bottom.

  7. Click Save.

If you wish to edit the homepage further, you can stay in the theme editor and play around with it here. You can add and remove different sections to design it. We have a detailed guide on customizing the Simple theme on this page if you need it.

Congrats on almost launching your store! Do you already have a marketing strategy in place for when you launch? Do you have a plan on how to get the word out once your business is open? If you haven’t figured this out, I highly recommend coming up with a strategy to increase the chances of getting sales when you launch. There are helpful ideas discussed in this blog post, such as taking advantage of free traffic and running paid ads. Feel free to take some of the tips and apply them to your business.
