How can I edit the 'Identifier exists' column in Google Merchant Feed Rules?

Hi

I need to edit my google merchant feed rules so that the [Identifier exists] column is set to ‘false’ but I can’t see where to access and edit this info. Do I need to ask for Shopify’s help or can I do this myself?

Google Instructions

Use for products that don’t have a GTIN, MPN, or brand.

  • If your product is new (which you submit using the condition [condition] attribute) and it doesn’t have assigned product identifiers that meet the requirements below, you should submit the identifier exists [identifier_exists] attribute with a value of no [no] or false [false]. (Note this value must be submitted in English).

Hi @emmapaterson

You can do it yourself in Google Merchant Center by configuring the Feed rules.

I have a video that explains it:

You can go to Google Merchant Center > Products > Feeds > click on your feed > click on the tab feed rules > click on the blue plus icon and search for identifier exists > set it to no.

Thank you!! Much appreciated and very clear video. Fingers crossed it works. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you Clarice! Much appreciated.

Thanks, Clarice. I’ve been looking everywhere to find out how to customise the Shopify feed to to Merchant Centre. Your video answered all my questions! Brilliant, thanks!

UPDATE - SOLVED - figured it out, must switch to the classic version!

Hi @EmmanuelFlossie

I’ve connected products to GMC via the Google app, however in GMC there is not Feed section under products to allow me to manage feed rules. What is the reason/solution for this?

I appreciate any insight you may have!

Thanks,

Michael

There should be a feed, if you are using the google and youtube app, it will be a content api feed.

If no feed is visible, then no products should be visible, and thus you need to first setup the feed in Shopify.
