Little bit of a different approach to solving this, but what if instead you had a way to automatically sync your actual inventory levels to shopify so that the inventory level in shopify was accurate at any time?

Thanks for the suggestion, but we are providing a percentage of the stocks availability which is only updated on a weekly basis. This is so that we can still serve our core customers, we haven’t sold online for over 10 years (via our own shop) and only launch this shop this year.

Ah I see. I’m not sure where / what format you’re pulling the inventory from on a weekly basis, but one solution there would be to automate the inventory updates so they happen roughly in real time. Even if you do modify that message, you’re likely losing sales because if a customer sees a message …
