Hello y’all, I am having some issues with my metafields. I am using the Dawn theme (don’t know if it’s relevant).
Under each product, you can add metafields, aka downloadable content to each product e.g. product guides or sizing details. I currently have 20 pinned metafields, as I have many products that need information. The issue however occurs when different products require different metafields. I cannot pin more than 20 metafields, and the new metafields I create do not appear under the product either.
So my question is, how can I add new metafields without messing with the already pinned ones (as they are being used under other products)? I need to add new metafields bc new data is needed, but I don’t know how to go about it. Scratch that; I am not even sure how metafields under products function. I have read a bit about it around here and there, and can see that a lot of people change it in the code itself - I still don’t quite get it.
Metafields are a bit more in depth level of customization. Part of it requires no coding, the other part does. You may need to hire a partner or expert to help you with that.
Shopify is making some access to metafields easier, but more custom stuff still requires code to get more functionality out of metafields. But it does sound like you do not need custom work. You still do have access to the metafields that are not pinned, they are just hidden from the list until you go to “view all definitions”
Let me know if that makes sense or works. Also, some fields only have access to some types of metafield content. So an input setting in the customizer may allow you to have access to the basic text input type metafield, but may not allow you access to a rich text editor type metafield. (by clicking on the dynamic data content icon) but a developer can get you to get some content connected with any type of metafield if you can provide a clear outline of what you’re looking to do.
How come the new metafields I make do not appear under the product itself, like the rest of my products? My working theory is that I have messed up in the “namespace and key” section, and that is why nothing appears when I upload images to the products.
Do you have a screenshot that you could share of some of the metafields you have created in Shopify, that are associated with a specific product? Then a second screenshot of the product page, where you aren’t seeing those metafields?

I want the “Energilabel 70cm” to appear, but it does not. The other "Energilabel"s that do appear are all unpinned, just like the one I made, and they still appear. So I am a little perplexed as to why I can’t see it.
I’d recommend reaching out to our help center for authenticated support. That way they can take a look into the backend of your admin to isolate any potential causes and troubleshoot further.

@Minais@The status of the metafield being pinned or not shouldn’t affect its appearance in your store. That just picks which ones to show in the fields below without having to click view more.
If you have the other metafields working fine, and this one just isn’t working, just possible that whatever was coded to get it working is only set to allow a certain amount of items to appear.
