Hi everyone,

Hoping for a little help and advice if I may. I have a shopify store and whilst we sell online (I’ll be posting another query on social media paid advertising which is driving me crazy at the moment!) but I think we have a pretty good product for dropshipping. Anyone have any idea how I can get the products in front of dropshippers? Also, what would be a reasonable commission?

Any help gratefully received. Our products can be found on www.cheekydough.co

Hey @scrasey

When it comes to getting your products in front of dropshippers, there are a few strategies you can consider. Here are some suggestions to help you reach potential dropshipping partners:

  1. Reach out to dropshipping platforms: There are various dropshipping platforms and marketplaces where you can list your products and connect with dropshippers. Examples include Oberlo, Spocket, Modalyst, and Wholesale2B. Research these platforms, understand their requirements, and create listings for your products to attract dropshippers.

  2. Attend dropshipping conferences and events: Look for industry conferences and events focused on dropshipping or e-commerce. These events provide opportunities to network with potential dropshippers, showcase your products, and establish business relationships.

  3. Collaborate with influencers and bloggers: Identify influencers or bloggers in the dropshipping or e-commerce niche who have an engaged audience. Reach out to them and offer your products for review or promotion. Influencers can help generate awareness and attract dropshippers who follow their content.

  4. Leverage social media: Utilize social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to connect with dropshippers. Join relevant groups or communities, share valuable content, and engage with potential partners. Consider running targeted ads to reach dropshippers specifically.

  5. Create informative content: Develop blog posts, videos, or guides that provide valuable insights into dropshipping. By positioning yourself as an expert, you can attract dropshippers who are looking for guidance and resources. Include information about your products and how they can benefit dropshipping businesses.

Regarding commission rates, there is no standard rate, and it can vary depending on various factors such as the type of product, profit margins, and competition. It’s important to strike a balance between offering an attractive commission to incentivize dropshippers and ensuring profitability for your business. Research the market, analyze competitor offerings, and consider offering a commission that is mutually beneficial for both parties.

Remember to clearly outline the terms and expectations in a dropshipping agreement or contract to ensure a smooth working relationship with your dropshipping partners.

Lastly, it’s always recommended to conduct thorough due diligence on potential dropshippers, including their reputation, customer service practices, and sales performance, to ensure they align with your business values and goals.

Best of luck with your dropshipping efforts, and I hope these suggestions help you connect with potential dropshippers and grow your business!
