Hey Guys, help me please!
I was using the facebook channel app to install my pixel and catalogs and everything was fine.
But I recently tried switching pixels to start one from scratch.
With the exchange, I noticed that even if I removed all the BM, Ad Account and Pixel links, the damn pixel was still connected to my store.
I tried to ignore it, but now my tracking is terrible and it’s affecting my data and optimization.
Every 10 visits I lose tracking of at least 5 or 6 of them because the pixels (BOTH) just don’t work!
I’m sure what is causing this tracking failure is some code installed by the app that I don’t have access to through the theme code.
Already tried:
-
I unlinked my account and uninstalled the Facebook App.
-
I contacted app support, who are telling me to hire a paid developer
-
I commented out the “content_for_header” section as taught in the post below:
https://community.shopify.com/c/technical-q-a/shopify-trekkie-loading-extra-tracking-pixels/m-p/786148
Nothing worked.
Can someone help me please?
@CoraBelle
Welcome to the Shopify community!
Thanks for your good question.
you can remove the existing pixel code from your theme.liquid file.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- In the Current theme section, click Actions, and select Edit code.
- Click the theme.liquid file to open the code editor.
- Delete the Facebook pixel code. You can find it between the and tags.
- Click Save.
Follow the above lines. if it can’t work let me know. we will help you to remove it.
Sorry @Zworthkey
I think I forgot to mention that Pixel is not found in any current folder of the theme code.
It is installed by the Facebook Channel app API
Will I need to hire an expert or will app support remove it for me?
