How can I effectively sort my collections in the backend?

Hi there,

We have a ton of collections and wondering if there was some way to sort our collections on the backend with folders. It makes it easier when we are trying to find what we need. Help.

Aside from some sorting and filtering options, I’m afraid there isn’t a way to sort collections into folders at the moment. However, I can see how such a function would be beneficial for our merchants, like yourself, that have larger collection catalogs and I’d be happy to submit this as a feature request to our development team. If Shopify moves forward with any new features or updates, we’ll be sure to announce them on our changelog.

It sounds like you have quite the selection of collections and products - I’d love to hear more about your business! What kind of products do you sell?

Hi Elias,

Most of the items we sell are handmade local artwork. We also carry items that are made in the US. We have at least 100 different collection and it would be really helpful if this was a feature that shopify could create. It would help us tremendously.

That’s definitely quite a number of collections to work with and I can see why you need a way to sort/filter through them - I’ll be sure to add this context to the feature request.

I think your store looks amazing and very organized! That being said, as this is something that is frequently requested and could potentially add to the professionalism of your storefront, would removing the “Powered by Shopify” message from the footer be something that interests you? Also, have you considered using something like Shopify Inbox to interact with customers on your store?

Thanks for reaching out on this thread.

At the moment, there is not a specific way to sort the collections into folders using the Shopify dashboard. However, you can use the sort or search bar to find the specific collection you would like. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the sections I am referring to:

With that being said, I can certainly see the benefit of allowing you to create groups or folders to have an easier navigation experience with the collections you have created. I am going to provide this thread as a suggestion to our developers. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback.
