How can I effectively use Shopify export for Pivot Table analysis?

Hi everyone,

I wish to do some regular exports for detailed reporting, however the basic order export is not well structured for data analysis. For instance, with a 4 products order, there are 4 lines, but only the first one gets order data (total order, tag, client address, etc.), which is not appropriate for a Pivot Table.

Do you have any recommandation to use shopify export and do a Pivot Table analysis?

Shopify’s basic order export isn’t ideal for pivot tables. Here’s how to get your data ready:

  1. Export with More Detail:

    • In the Orders section, use the “Export” button and choose “Line items” to get separate lines for each product in an order.

  2. Third-Party Apps:

    • Consider apps like Orderhive, EZ Exporter, or OrderTags that format data for pivot tables.

  3. Shopify Reports (Limited):

    • Built-in reports offer some data but aren’t as flexible as pivot tables.
  • Clean and format the exported data in a spreadsheet tool before using pivot tables.
  • Explore data automation tools for regular exports.
