Hi - how can I email a customer using the shipment update template? I’m sending the shipment not using any Shopify labels as that’s an international shipment. I checked a few places but still can’t see where I can do that. If anyone could let me know I’d be appreciated. Thanks!

@Mirdas and once the tracking number is added, would Shopify automatically send out emails when the parcel is out for delivery / delivered? Thank you in advance!
As Mirdas said, this is where you may want to consider a dedicated app (like Starshipit), which gives you some more control over the notifications.
