A merchant with a hybrid B2B/B2C Shopify Plus store needs to offer manual payment methods (bank transfer, direct debit) to B2B customers, but currently only credit card payments via Shopify Payments are available at checkout.
Current Status:
Manual payment methods for B2B are now in early access according to Shopify’s documentation
However, these are off-platform methods requiring manual recording after payment is received
ACH payments are not natively supported through Shopify Payments
Community Concerns:
Multiple merchants report that 90%+ of B2B customers prefer wire transfers/invoices over credit cards
Current limitation causes lost orders when customers reach checkout expecting traditional B2B payment options
Users note the irony that Shopify’s own content recognizes checks, ACH, and wire transfers as standard B2B payment methods
Workarounds:
Process B2B payments outside the platform and record manually
Use third-party payment gateways like Stripe that support ACH/bank transfers
A LinkedIn article provides guidance on implementing bank transfers through Stripe integration

I have a Plus store on which I have created a hybrid store (B2B and B2C) however when the customer connects with the new account gateway in order to have these B2B prices and wants to order a product it is only payable by credit card Shopify Payment except I would like the customer can use a manual payment method by payment by bank transfer or direct debit.
Hi there, @Thomasdbs . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community with your question around B2B payment methods! My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!
At this time, it’s currently not possible to set up direct bank transfers as a payment method within the Shopify Checkout for B2B customers. We have received some feedback around requests for this functionality in the past, so I’m happy to complete a feature request on your behalf to pass along internally to our Developers. Though you aren’t able to set up direct bank transfers payments within your checkout, or direct debits to B2B customer accounts via your checkout, you can work with these B2B customers outside of the Shopify platform if you would like to accommodate this sort of payment process for them.
Same problem here, so please complete the feature request if it’s not yet done. 90% of our resellers pay through wire transfer. But sometimes, they pay with a card (depending on their mood).
We’re happy if they pay with a card right now, but we’re very sad if they reach the payment page, only have the card option and want to pay another way… the order is then lost.
So this doesn’t make any sense. Usually in 99.99% of all cases b2b customer don’t pay via credit card. b2b customers usually are served with invoice + bank transfers. Card payments are usually for b2c customers. Why you roll out a feature without talking to any of your shopify customers? then such a weird fail shouldn’t happen.
While Imogen has shared this feedback with our Developers, it is still not currently not possible to set up direct bank transfers as a payment method within the Shopify Checkout for B2B customers. I can understand how that may not be ideal, but can assure you that this feedback has been passed along. We wouldn’t however, have insight on when and/or if this will become available. The best thing you can do is to follow the Shopify Changelog for any updates made to the platform.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
@Gita Is there a way to capture the ACH payments through shopify payments? The only thing I see available is a manual payment method that is basic instructions to the customer to do ACH outside of our store. That is not ideal, or am I better off going with a 3rd party payment gateway like Stripe that allows this functionality as I’m describing?
Hi @Jason37 . Manual payment methods are intended for use with off-platform payment methods, that is the transactions is happening outside of Shopify (think cash, checks, bank transfers), thus need to be manually recorded in Shopify once payment is received. ACH isn’t currently available through Shopify Payments, so you’d need to use a 3P payment gateway for that, if one is available in your region.
