I own many Shopify sites and I was previously utilizing Stripe as a payment method; but, because I use Shopify so frequently, I want to use only the tools provided by this company. The problem is that I’m from Morocco, and Shopify payment isn’t available there. However, my limited liability business (LLC) is registered in the United Kingdom. So, legally, I should be able to profit from Shopify payment because I can offer legal documents from a Shopify-supported country. So, if somebody can take me through this and assist me in enabling Shopify payment, I would be grateful.
If you’re interested in using Shopify Payments for a store, while residing outside of that region we can consider your application if you’re able to confirm that your business is based and operating there.
We would need to have a few forms of documentary evidence submitted in order for this to be considered.
If you can provide the following, we can see if you’ll be able to move onto the next step in this application:
Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.- ID for merchant’s country of origin ID may be accepted)
Business registration document (Registered in that country with the government)
Tracking showing they are shipping from the country they signed up from or Proof of address (not a forwarding address)
It is not advisable to share sensitive documents there directly, as our escalated team will be sending you a secure submission link if it is being considered.
Bear in mind that your store would need to be based in the UK if you wish to use Shopify Payments UK, and if your store is based in Morocco you would need to use one of the options available there.
Can you tell me a bit more about your business and what you’re selling?
Are you looking to target the UK market specifically or sell in GBP?
