Hello,
I have an online store that sells discs (frisbees) for disc golf. Some products come in different plastics, colours, and weights. For example, a product like ‘Discraft Zone’ comes two different plastics, three weights, and seven colours.
I want customers to click on the product ‘Discraft Zone’ and then within the product, be able to filter (preferably with check boxes) the variants by plastic type, weight, and colour.
Anyone know how to accomplish this?

You can have up to 3 options when adding variants for your product, with a total of 100 variants per product. Using your product, Discraft Zone, as an example, you can add all 3 variables (eg. materials, colours, and weight) for your variants. Since there are 2 types of plastics, 3 different weights, and 7 colours, this product will have 42 variants in total.

As for having checkboxes for customers to select their variants, there are a few options to go over for accomplishing this. First I’d recommend checking your theme, as some themes will feature buttons instead of drop-downs for choosing variants. It’s also possible to customize your current theme; however, this level of customization isn’t something that our Theme Support will be able to help with. If you’re not comfortable with coding, such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Liquid, you can hire a developer to help you with this. Shopify Experts is a directory of developers who are experienced in custom coding and working with third-party themes, they’ll be able to assist you with customizing your theme.
Alternatively, there are some third-party apps that can create colour swatches for selecting variants as well. Swatches by Webyze or Swatchify can create colour options as buttons and they can work with your existing theme. Or, if you need to exceed the 100-variant limit as well as having buttons or colour swatches, then I’d recommend Bold Product Options.
