I connected my domain successfully with my current shoplifty account and made it primary. How will all links work as my store was saved on by default settings of Shopify. Need my main domain to work on store now. Do i need to turn on redirecting option?
If you were using your “.myshopify.com” URL to advertise your store before connecting your purchased domain, then all traffic will automatically redirect to your purchased domain as long as you have the redirect option enabled.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online store > Domains.
- In the Primary domain section, click Enable redirections.
- Click Enable redirections again.
If you were using the domain on a different platform, then traffic should automatically be redirected to your new store if; however, they may be greeted with an error page if they are using a specialized URL. More information on creating redirects within the Shopify admin can be found here.
