How can I exclude certain variants from a discount code?

Hi,

For my shop, www.meticulousdetailing.ca, I want to create a discount code for pre-approved wholesale customers that applies to all products except a few select ones and some variants in other products.

Specifically, I want my 15% discount code to apply to all products EXCEPT all of the car polishers, and any product variants that are 5 Gallons or more.

There doesn’t seem to be any option to do this when creating the code, and I can’t find a good workaround. I thought at first maybe I could create a collection for all products except the ones not included in the discount, but you can’t separate out variants from a collection it seems.

And going into the discount and selecting ALL of the products except the ones I want is extremely tedious, there’s over 300 products. Plus this option would mean every single time I add inventory, I have to go to the discount code and manually add it there to make sure its included in the discount…really not an efficient helpful set up.

Is there any way to do what I want?

Hi,

I am having this same problem. Some of my variants should be included in a sale, and others shouldn’t. For example, some of my products have summer colors (ex. Pink) and some have winter colors (ex. Black). These different colors live under a single product, but the Pink color should be included in the “Summer Sale” while the black should not be.

Similar to the above, it would be too tedious for me to INCLUDE all products that should be part of the promotion. Instead, it would be more efficient for me to EXCLUDE all products that should not be part of the promotion.

Has anyone found a way to do this?
