Thank you @BjornD for letting us know. This is very helpful! Can we please have one more useful filter? I see we can filter the table for origin zip code, origin country, but it would be best to have the actual Shopify Shipping Location! This makes it easy to pull all the postage used for a specific fulfillment location. If the zipcode is already in there, hopefully isn’t too hard to add in the origin name (the Shopify location name)
Topic summary
Shopify merchants are seeking ways to export detailed shipping data—including box dimensions, actual weight, and costs paid—for accurate profit tracking and tax accounting. This is particularly challenging for stores offering free shipping promotions, as third-party profit-tracking apps only see $0 customer charges rather than actual merchant costs.
Current Workarounds:
- Manually download monthly billing statements (Settings > Billing > Export CSV) and calculate totals in Excel
- Use third-party apps like ReportPundit, BeProfit, or Easy Reports to access shipping cost data per order
- Review the Finance Overview for generalized shipping totals
Major Limitations:
- Additional carrier fees (dimensional weight adjustments, address corrections, returned package charges) are buried in individual order timelines with no consolidated reporting
- No way to track these post-label adjustments without manually reviewing each delivered order
- Dropshippers using supplier carrier accounts face additional complexity tracking per-order costs
Shopify’s Response:
Two new native reports were introduced: “Shipping Labels” and “Shipping Labels Over Time,” showing label costs per order and average costs. However, these don’t capture third-party fulfillment (like ShipStation) or post-purchase carrier adjustments.
Merchants continue requesting this as a standard built-in feature rather than requiring paid third-party solutions or manual workarounds.
This is great feedback, thanks @joshroban ! I’ve passed it along to the team that’s responsible for these filters and views.
Do the new reports not include shipping cost fulfilled by 3th-party app such as ShipStation? I mainly use ShipStation to fulfill orders, and I don’t see Shipping Labels or Shipping Labels Over Time reports. I also don’t see shipping cost in the billing history CSV files.
If this is the case, how can I extract shipping cost per order or see the overall shipping costs on Shopify?
Not an idea solution perhaps, but in Shopify you can generate a “Package Sent” report which shows you most of what’s being asked here: cost of the shipping, package type etc. Let me know if you’d like more info.

These tools are great, but I wished it included the total weight of just the products in the box.
I’m beginning to use a new shipping service that is based on weight, and knowing this would give me a better idea of the range of product weights that would fit the service used. For example, there is a flat fee for packages under 0.5 lbs, but I need to know if a product weight of 0.4 lbs should be the maximum weight for this service.
Sometimes the box weight can be wrong due to the size of the product and the amount of packing material used.
Hey Natureniche, I was searching the blog for the same reason as you, and the rest of the folks below- where I saw some of your questions. I have a pdf on “how to export shipping detailed invoices from shopify” that we use. Question for you though, as I run a Parcel Shipping Franchise, partnered with UPS, and was going to ask a few of the others in this chat the same. Are you using Shopify’s Shipping Accounts, or did you integrate your own?
Hey ThankedRapier4, saw your post and replied to a few others as well. I run a franchise that is a “reseller” of UPS Small Parcel pricing/services. We integrate Pricing into Shopify, as they are one of our largest partners. From the sound of it you had said the dynamic pricing is pulling from USPS and UPS, not directly from your own account, is that right? I have the ability to get you a free UPS account, that you would own, and NOT have to pre-pay funds into Shopify, with heavier discounts in the account. Let me know if this would help you, as then you would be able to export PDF detailed shipping invoices, and better forecast shipping spends, discounts, reporting, ALL while owning the UPS account at the highest discounts they offer.
Thanks,
Nick
GOOD MORNING SANSTENTACLES,
I’ve replied to a few others on this chat, as I was trying to help a client export their invoices in shopify, as they were getting bogus charges/rebills/adjustments. I run a shipping franchise that is partnered with ups, our largest vendor is Shopify. We help companies that ship parcel, get their own UPS account, that they own, with the strongest discounts tied to it. Within a few days, we can get a ups account for most folks, that has huge discounts- and fees waived, and it will pop up in their shopify. Do you guys use shopifys master shipping accounts, or did you integrate your own?
Thanks,
nick
