How can I filter out paid apps to find free ones?

When choosing an app there is an option on the left which has the label “Free”.

This does very little.

Most of the apps displayed are “Paid” apps - and I have no problem with people being rewarded for their fine work.

However, if all results are “Paid” apps, then I suggest removing the “Free” option because this is not the expected behaviour.

The expected behaviour for checking the “Free” option app is it will filter out the apps which are “Paid”.

This way I do not have to investigate EVERY app and scroll down to find it it “Free to install”. Ha!

Hello @DarrylRobertson !
Hope you are doing well.

Here to just clear your confusion regarding the apps showing in the free app’s filter.
Those apps have a free plan available in their apps, like up to 100 orders/month you can use the app free of cost. If you are getting orders within the particular range mentioned in the app plan, you can use the app for free.
And that is the reason paid apps are showing in the free app’s filter.
Hope this helps. :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree that your example is indeed a great way of proviidng a free option.

This way, the app is fully functional and when proven successful it should be paid.

My problem is not with this business model.

My problem is when the app will not function unless you pay.

For example, there is an app I’d like to use classed as Free. In fact it is $25 per month.

Bundle Builder by Bundle Builder is labelled as “Free Plan Available”.

This app’s Free plan is “You won’t have to pay until your store is ready. That way, you can get set up to sell more, right from Day 1.”

This plan is $25 per month. It should not be seen if you choose the “Free” app option.

Another example as not being “Free” in my opinion is an app called:

AP: Collection Import/Export

Their “Free” plan is in my opinion “Paid”.
“Test the app to see if it meets your needs. Limited to 5 collections for exporting and importing.”

It is a free trial .. free to see if their app can do what they claim it does.

You cannot use this app in your shop without paying $20 per month - it should not be in the Free section.
