How can I fix a domain redirection issue for better speed?

I made a shop during 14 trial period- (still in trial but picked a plan ) and for that I used one domain that I have (gotechdesign.com); For personal reasons I did not manage to connect my shop to this domain*(manually ) and I decided to buy a new domain from Shopify (clotheswithpersonality.com); When I search domain it looks that my gotechdesign.myshopify.com shop is redirecting to clotheswithpersonality.com but it seems that this problem (redirecting ) create lost speed. How I can do to remain only with clotheswithpersonality.com? Should I do something more on domain or after finalising trial period this will be solved?

Hello, @Lafigri .

Welcome to the Shopify Community and thank you for sharing your question here!

I understand that your Shopify domain gotechdesign.myshopify.com is redirecting to your custom domain clotheswithpersonality.com. The issue is that when it’s redirecting it’s creating lost speed.

In order for us to take a closer look, I recommend @Ecom_Swift suggestion of sharing a screenshot within your Domains section of the Shopify admin to see how the domain is set up. Could you provide a bit more detail on how this is affecting your store? I’d like to gather a bit more context to provide you with the proper resources.

In regards to your .myshopify.com domain, it cannot be removed or transferred from your store. This is because you use this domain to log in to your Shopify admin and identify your account when you contact Shopify Support. You can however change your .myshopify.com domain once but you’ll still need your original .myshopify.com domain to log in to your store. You can find more information in our removing domains resource.

When you first create a Shopify store, your primary domain is your .myshopify.com domain. From there, you can add your custom domain and set it as the primary domain. Once you’ve set up your domain redirect, your customers are redirected to the primary domain when they enter the redirect domain name into the browser’s address bar. For better visibility, check out our changing the domain type and target resource.

Lastly, I’d like to share our resource on removing Powered by Shopify. Did you know you’re able to remove this text from your storefront’s footer? You can follow the steps within our resource to give your footer section a clean and professional look.

Looking forward to hearing back!
