How can I fix misplaced content on my new webpage?

Topic summary

Misplaced content on a new Shopify page: a newly created Recipes page appears under the FAQ page/tab in preview. The concern is how to correct it and prevent recurrence.

Likely cause: the default page template was edited or the page was assigned the wrong template. In Shopify, a “template” defines a page’s layout and where content is rendered; changes to a default template affect all pages using it.

Recommended actions:

  • Check that the default page template hasn’t been modified unintentionally.
  • In the page settings, assign the correct (default) template to the new page.

Outcome/status: No confirmation of resolution yet; guidance provided to verify templates. Further assistance was offered if the steps are unclear. The discussion remains open with no additional technical artifacts (images/code) shared.

I’m creating a new page and I go to check it out on the preview page and its in a completely different area like my recipes page that I created has it own page/tab and its somehow in the FAQ page? Not too sure how this happened but does anyone know how to fix this incase this happens next time?

You might edited the default page or you selected the different page template.

  1. Make sure your default page template not edited

  2. You selected the default template, where you created the page
