How can I group multiple color variants under one filter option?

is there a way to group variants? For instance, we have multiple green shades for the color filter such as olive, mint, dark green, light green. We only want our customer to use the filter option “green” and find all the variants. I am clubbing it through product meta fields but some products are getting added others not.

Unfortunately, we need all color variants and hence, cannot only name one variant “green”.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello Nitinj,

I want to suggest you, for making the best filter option for your store.

You can go with the product filter search app.

Link: https://apps.shopify.com/product-filter-search?search_id=ae9354b1-312b-4b35-9d60-09cba0936f8e&surface_detail=Boost+Product+Filter+%26+Search&surface_inter_position=1&surface_intra_position=4&surface_type=search

It’s a simple way to use.

Hi @nitinj ,

It’s Stacy from Searchanise Team, the app that provides professional search and filter capabilities for Shopify stores.

One way of grouping color variants is to set up color families. Check out our help portal to learn more about this feature: https://docs.searchanise.io/set-up-color-families-shopify/

I hope this helps!

The feature you are looking for is called Merged Value. The app I am using does support that
https://apps.shopify.com/ultimate-search-and-filter-1

Basically, you go to Settings → Merged Value and create any merged value from the same data type (Not only color but size, metafield, tags,…). This one does also support swatch display.
