Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. I did some searches and couldn’t find an exact answer. I may have one solution, but it requires editing theme code, so before I go that route, I want to check if there is something easier.
My store is here. It’s open, but still a work in progress.
Questions:
- How do I group products by design type onto a single page and provide appropriate selection options?
- How do I suppress certain selection options on pages where they might not apply?
Full Description:
Issue #1: Right now, I essentially have 3 designs; however, due to how my provider (Printify) works, I need to create a separate product for each item with a unique base color. This has resulted in one design (Chakra Galaxy Brushstroke) having 21 “variants”. This will only compound once I start applying the same design to other styles such as capris or high-rise leggins or perhaps even other items entirely.
What I would like to accomplish is having a single page for each design. On that page, there would be three selections: Size, Color, and (eventually) “Garment Type”.
I’m looking at this solution from “The Prompted” (link opens to a YouTube video). I’m posting this question first because at around th3 1:50 mark he mentions that on Shopify you typically get 3 options. 3 options would fit my needs perfectly for now, so I’m checking to see if there is something I’ve missed.
Issue #2: Another thing to consider is a design like my “Golden Chakra Nebula” leggings. This design covers the entire garment, so there would be no color option on that page, just size and garment type. I would need to suppress or remove the “color” option on that page. I assume I can edit that individual page if necessary?
