How can I halt all customer payments on my ecommerce website?

Hello,

We currently have no inventory to fulfil orders and need to stop incoming payments by customers. I have disabled credit/debit cards, deactivated paypal, etc. Even customizing the checkout screen it says, “This store can’t accept payments right now.”

However we just had an order come in that says paid. Customer said he paid through our shopify website using Paypal. Please help. How can I stop payments coming my way on orders I cannot fulfil at this time?

You can halt all customer payments temporarily on your eCommerce website using the PayRules: Hide Payment Methods app. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Choose all payment methods (including PayPal) from the “Select payment methods” field.
  2. In the “Cart total” field, set the maximum limit to 0.1

This setup will ensure that no payment methods are available, effectively stopping incoming payments until you are ready to resume accepting orders.
