I got a little proble since i’ve added a facebook plug-in in the footer of my home website page.
The plug-in is ok, I’ve added the code into the template ‘footer.liquid’.
The problem is that manipulation make appear a facebook link below the button of my product pages (see pictures below). And i don’t want this because if people click too low they leave the website and go to facebook page…
Can someone help me to keep the facebook plug-in in my footer but hidding this link in my product page.
Nice work adding the plug in, it’s not easy to make changes like this! I just wanted to ask some clarification questions to make sure I completely understand.
Just to confirm, you want to have the plug in, but only on the home page and not the product pages also? Do you want the whole plug in to be there and is that something you 100% want? I see you have the Facebook icon at the bottom and wondering why you also want the plug in too? As like you mentioned it could take people away or distract them from your store/ products.
There is a great blog from our content team which touches on the icon side of things more which might be of interest to you, here.
Yes I just want the plug in in the home page footer, and not on the product page.
I thought it was interesting to make referrals to social networks. But if with your experience you think that it can bounce people off the website, I can remove it, it’s true that it’s not essential …
I’m not 100% sure how to make that happen as coding is not my speciality. But if you did want to explore that more, you could reach out to our theme support team via one of our advisors here to discuss this further.
My personal opinion is that you don’t need it, and could benfit more from an Instagram carousel/ reel instead as it would blend in much better with your store. I think the link to your FB shown in the screenshot below is more than enough, but that is just my opinion.
