How can I hide unavailable collections from the menu?

We use the default theme on a couple different accounts and I’m trying to find out how to hide collections when making them unavailable. I have made them completely unavailable on all channels but when I go to the site, all collections are still listed on the top menu and it just goes to “404 page not found”. How do I hide it from the menu when it’s unavailable?

Hi @GracedWF

I do not think I understand the question. How are you making the collection unavailable? Do you mean when the product is unavailable? You can set the menu and just call the specific collection.

You can read more about Menu navigation here

No. I make the specific collection unavailable on all sales channels.

Then if you go to the ACTUAL website (not the shopify admin back office) and look at the menu at the top of the screen, the collection is still listed and when you click on it, it says “404 page not found” because I made it unavailable on all sales channels.

I want the collection to disappear from the main menu on the actual website when it is not available

These pictures show that there are only 4 collections available on the online store. The next picture shows that ALL collections are listed at the top menu of the website. The other picture shows what happens when you click on an “unavailable” collection

Hi @GracedWF ,

I think I understand your request. So when you make the collection unavailable, it will not show products therefore it will return 404. But there is no way of figuring out which collection is unavailable or available.

It is weird, the collection title should be hidden if it is unavailable.

The option you can do is to change the navigation on the top menu. Instead of having the ALL collection, just have the collections you want
