How can I identify removed items in an exported order CSV file?

Yes, I second this. I rely heavily on exporting lists of orders for my own reporting.

The problem is this case:

  • An order is made on shopify
  • the order is changed and items are removed
  • All orders are exported
  • the csv export still shows the removed items, but there is no way in the csv to differentiate what is the removed items.

This has caused significant issues with my reporting when using csv order exports. A solution could be to manually edit the csv export before using it for reports, but that requires that I know of and can find all the orders that might’ve been changed. This is not a realistic workaround.

This is an example, a customer got 4 rain barrels and then wanted to change to 3. We edited the order and made the refund for the 1. The order shows on the csv export in three lines, but the 4 rain barrels and 3 rain barrels have no distinction of which had been removed.
