How can I implement structured data for size variants on a new website?

We are having an issue with our new website.

We use 3 variants per item (UK Size, EU Size, US Size), and we rely heavily on our Google advertising. We submit our feed through the Google sales channel using content api. Unfortunately, due to us having 3 size variants, Google cannot recognise the size of our products (we only want to submit one size which is UK Size to Google).

After investigating it appears we need to add in structured data code in order for us to use the website scrape feature on Google merchant center and pull UK Size into it (unless there is another way?).

Please can someone assist with this as we desperately need to have our products approved.

First you need to submit a data feed, that only include the products you want to list. As the free shopping app you are using does not have that functionality, you will not be able to exclude it using the feed.

Instead, you can use a feed rule, for excluded destinations: If title does not contain UK set to shopping_ads

Then to update the structured data, you can follow the guide here: https://feedarmy.com/kb/shopify-microdata-for-google-shopping/

Hi,

We have added the structured data to the site. Will this now pull variant 1 (UK Size) into GMC?

If you are talking about the size attribute value, then you need to submit these values correctly in your app. Go to your product > click on more actions > google shopping

And add your data.

However this applies to all variants.

If you have add the size attribution as a shopify option in your product variants, then you can use an app such as: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Which allows you to map the size value in shopify to the size value in GMC.

The structured data, does not automatically add size values in GMC.
