I am having a problem with how the search feature on my website works.
I will like to make search keywords relevant to products that have said keywords in their titles and not product descriptions. For example, when I search moisturizer, I expect the result to be of products with the word moisturizer in their titles or tags. Instead, the result consists of every products with the word “moisturizer “ in their titles and product descriptions. So, I end up having products that don’t even fall under moisturizers.

Currently, you can only edit it with the app. Shopify search form doesn’t support this, refer: https://shopify.dev/themes/navigation-search/search

That doesnt help. I will like to have the search result show only products that have the keywords in their titles and not descriptions without paying extra by subscribing to an app. Is that possible?

Currently, this is not possible. You can contact Shopify directly for support: https://help.shopify.com/en/questions#/contact
This app https://apps.shopify.com/ultimate-search-and-filter-1 lets you control what fields the search engine should look for. For example if you only enable searching in product title and tags, it only looks for relevant terms in those fields, not in description. You can control that settings in App settings => Search index.
