I haven’t officially opened my store yet, as I am waiting until the relaunch of a website (next week!). However, I’ve been testing my CWV, and I am going bananas. I was able to take a WordPress site from scores of 18 to a consistent 95+, but I cannot fix my shop.
I do not want to invest in an app with a monthly fee.
I am NOT technically minded, but my husband is, and he helped me bring my score up about 20 points by removing an unnecessary app and its remnant code. But some of the “unused codes” he removed turned out to be necessary, so he added them back. When I look at things (from Google’s report), I am wondering about this
Am I understanding correctly (when I read articles) that some of this third-party code can be moved to the FOOTER to save on load time?
I’m sorry if I sound like a dork. I really don’t understand things, but I am trying. I can’t believe how hard it is to get a good CWV score for a Shopify shop.
Any other ideas? Is anyone else going bananas?
