How can I improve my furniture website, WoodModo?

Hi All,

Looking for a new pair of eyes to see where improvements can be made:

WoodModo

We have spent quite a bit of time learning everything already. Made a bad decision on the template purchase, but lesson learned. For now we have fixed it up as best we can.

Hi Djmc,

This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App.

Your store looks professionally made and you have hit most of the best practices for a Shopify store. I love the planting tree idea, it would be great to have a gage to show how many trees you have planted so far!

Might just be nitpicking but your logo on this pop up seems to be too close to the edge?

Other improvements I can suggest would be:

Product reviews. Each of your products doesn’t seem to have any testimonials so far, it would be good to encourage a few of your customers to write a few reviews for your best sellers. This helps promote more consumer trust and confidence.

Improve SEO. SEO can always be improved and I would suggest doing a site audit on SMErush to see if your load speed is okay, and also doing an free text post-purchase survey to help gather keywords for SEO and ads.

Ask your customers! (Most effective for increasing conversion) When you have some converting customers, ask them how they found out about your shop. You can easily do so with a marketing attribution post-purchase survey app, and reward your customers with coupons/points to keep them coming back again. Once you find out your strongest marketing channel, focus more effort and money on that.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Djmc ,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

I’m genuinely impressed with your website. Your site has a stylish flair while remaining clean, clear, and professional. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions to improve your conversion rates and sales:

1. Edit your Hero banner

Aligning text in hero banners enhances clarity, consistency, and visual appeal, fostering a better user experience. You should apply this thing with other hero banners of your store.

The capitalization of the title “Furniture Sale” in this hero banner is different from the other two hero banners, you need to stick to the same style to increase consistency and synchronization.

2. Add a hover effect for your product image

You should add a hover effect for your product image. When a user places their cursor over an image, often used on websites to indicate interactivity or to provide additional information or visual cues about the item without clicking.

It can involve changes like zooming in on the product, displaying alternative images, or revealing additional details, enhancing the browsing experience and aiding in product selection.

I checked some products on your product page that have this effect but on the homepage didn’t.

1st image: a product shot against a singular color background to highlight the item clearly.

2nd image: an image showing the product in use or in a real-life setting to enhance trustworthiness by demonstrating its application and appeal in everyday life.

3. Star rating and number of ratings

You should Include Both the User Rating Average and the Number of Ratings in your product in product on your home page. Customers often check ratings, reviews, and feedback on the product before deciding to order it. You should include this section with your product information to get more trustworthy.

4. Check the target link of those icons

Clicking on most icons redirects to the homepage, but two icons failed to link properly. Please verify and update these links to ensure they direct to the intended pages that you want.

5. Check the review image

The review image isn’t displaying correctly. It would be beneficial to investigate and resolve this issue to enhance the customer experience.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful in optimizing your website’s conversion rate and sales. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I wish you the best of luck with your online venture.

Best regards,

Kate | PageFly Team

Thank you for that feedback, much appreciated. I need more sales to get more reviews! Hopefully that will improve over time…

Thank you for taking a look, I’ve managed to implement almost all your suggestions (or find work arounds to fix them). Reviews is something I am working on, I think that needs to be my priority to get more of them.

Hello @Djmc,

Hope you’re doing well!

I checked out your website and the products you’re offering, and it looks like you’ve built a really nice catalog. The site itself looks great as well. One thing I’ve been noticing more in the furniture space is brands experimenting with AR features that let customers visualize products in their own space before buying.

With just their phone, people can preview pieces in their room, compare options, and get a better feel for how something might look before adding it to their cart.

It can help customers understand things like size, placement, colors, and proportions a bit better, which sometimes makes the buying decision easier. It also adds a more interactive element to online shopping, which a lot of customers seem to enjoy.

There are many great tools out there that you could try.

Wishing you the best with your store!
