I opened my shop a few weeks ago. Can I get some feedback on the overall design and ease of use? Also, I don’t see my site on Google yet. I filled out Google Console a few weeks ago. Do I just need to be patient or did I miss something in the set-up process? teacherjeanell.com
Welcome to the Shopify community.
Hope you are doing well. Here are a few suggestions.
Always compare your store with your competitors. Also, compare your product price with others.
Logo: You should need a proper logo to represent your brand. It should communicate your brand’s message, values, and identity. It should be simple, distinctive, and memorable.
Logo Size: It’s important to note that your logo does not need to be exactly 410 pixels wide by 205px high.
Front Images: Use good quality featured and right dimension banner images with call-to-action buttons to captivate user attention. It should be resized images for mobile screens.

Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided. You can add a ‘Call to action banner’ ‘New arrivals’, ‘Top selling products, Most popular collection, announcement bar, Today’s deals, and offers, etc on the homepage to engage users.
Your store should be clear navigation. The store should have easy to access the shopping cart.

Check your store with the Page insight tool to get the score. because the low mobile score can kill the website traffic and lose revenue. optimizing a Shopify site for high page load speed is a major priority.
Google Search Console :
Is your website exist on the search result page? (Your brand name). If yes then it’s good to see, google is indexing and the user will reach you easily. Unless your store is completely invisible.
If you are not using the Google Search Console yet, set it up now. Google Search Console report will let you know if your pages are indexed or not at all. If none of your pages can be found by Google, then it may have an issue, as this means no organic traffic at all. And No traffic means no Conversion.
- Find the Pages, Where You Lose the Most Customers. Convert More of the Shoppers Who Put Products in Their Carts. Check your store bounce rate.
- Showcase How Popular Product Pages Are. Promote Offers With Push Notifications in the form of Popups or announcement bars. Optimize Your Product Pages.
- Look at the difference between your New Visitors and your Returning Visitors. For most Shopify stores, your returning visitors will have a much higher conversion rate than your new visitors.
You need to focus on the following points…
- Highlight product benefits clearly
- Allow guest checkout.
- Choose relevant keywords
- Identify your target customers.
- Use design to improve user experience.
- Create Content That Converts
- Mobile-friendliness
- Check bounce rate regularly

Hi @Teacherjeanell ,
It appears that your website has not yet been indexed by Google’s crawler.
To check which pages of your site have been crawled by Google, you can search for “site:teacherjeanell.com” in Google. This will show you all the pages that have been indexed so far.
Keep in mind that the process of indexing and ranking can take some time, so continue to focus on creating high-quality content and optimizing your site for search engines.
Hello @Teacherjeanell ,
I am Gina from flareAI app, and I am here to provide assistance.
It’s common for new websites to take some time before appearing on Google search results. This is because Google’s search algorithm needs to crawl and index your website’s content before it can be displayed in search results.
There are several things you can do to help speed up the process of getting your Shopify shop indexed by Google:
-
Submit your sitemap to Google
Your sitemap is a file that contains a list of all the pages on your website. Submitting your sitemap to Google will help the search engine find and index all your pages more quickly. You can do this through Google Search Console. -
Create high-quality content
Google loves websites that provide high-quality, original content that is useful to readers. Make sure your product descriptions, blog posts, and other content are well-written, informative, and relevant to your target audience. -
Build high-quality backlinks
Backlinks are links from other websites to your website. They help search engines understand that your website is a valuable resource. Try to get backlinks from reputable websites in your industry. -
Optimize your website for search engines
This includes using relevant keywords in your content and meta tags, optimizing your website’s loading speed, and making sure your website is mobile-friendly. -
Be patient
It can take several weeks or even months for your website to be fully indexed by Google. Keep working on improving your website’s content and SEO, and you should see results over time.
In addition to these tips, you may want to consider using paid advertising methods, such as Google Ads or social media advertising, to drive traffic to your website while you wait for it to appear in organic search results.
Let me know if you require any further guidance.

What is the correct banner image size? Thanks
Hello there @Teacherjeanell I have had a good look at your store and here are a few suggestions on how it could be improved.
-
There should be customer testimonials on the homepage as this would help inspire a higher level of trust from the potential customers.
-
The social media accounts of the business should be present at the bottom of the homepage. This would help with connectivity with the customers.
-
The hardest thing about running a store is drawing in customers and then keeping them as recurrent customers. A good way to achieve this is by offering subscriptions towards certain types of customers as rewards for their patronage. These subscriptions could be tailored specifically towards new customers, those who have shopped a certain number of times, or those who shop a bit constantly. To deal with assigning these subscriptions properly, I suggest the use of the Seal Subscriptions App as this app would help carry out this function basically automatically. You can try the app freely here https://apps.shopify.com/seal-subscriptions
Hi @Teacherjeanell ,
This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. First of all, congratulations on your new store, it looks stunning that I bet you put a lot of effort into it. However, I would like to give some suggestions to make it even better and gain more sales.
1. Make the CTA more outstanding
The CTA button is presently located on the far edge of the hero banner, making it easy to overlook. I suggest placing it in the center of the banner to grab visitors’ attention and encourage them to click on it.
Moreover, to prevent color overlap with the background, it may be helpful to change the color of both the heading and the call-to-action (CTA).
2. Add more overlay color for the collection
The CTAs are hard to see since they are same color with the background items. I suggest to increase the overlay color of the background to make CTAs more noticeable.
3. Item alignment
The product lists are not well - aligned with each other since some products have longer titles than the others.
You can make them align in one line to make the site more professional.
4. Add a countdown timer
It can be seen that you are running a sale promotion for some products. You can consider adding a major Countdown Timer on the Homepage. Showing a timer rolling backward which communicates how much time remains before a given action should be taken. It’s probably good practice that the shown urgency is authentic and not just made up.
5. Check device responsiveness
Check across devices to make sure the content is well aligned with the screen size.
Moreover, International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD) is just around the corner. With the theme #EmbraceEquality, here are some worthwhile ideas for you to make the most of it:
1. Personalize your discounts and deals
You can offer sales, discounts or special deals to your female customers to make them feel more valued in IWD!
2. Show testimonials from female customers
You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos. Additionally, featuring women’s portraits with their testimonials would make it even more engaging.
3. Spotlights female staff
This can be a great way to enhance your brand presence as a brand that supports equality for women. You can even promote your own business if it’s women-owned as it is probably a golden opportunity for you to receive the support and promotion from others.
I hope that you will not lose motivation or perseverance in the face of any challenges or obstacles.
Good luck and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Richard | PageFly
