How can I improve my online accessory and apparel store?

Hello!

I wanted to get some feedback on my online store. I mostly sell small accessory items and some apparel. Currently, I’m prepping for a shop update and have added new products and freshened up some old product photos. I want to see where else I can improve to make the store better. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time.

Hello @KofukuArtStudio

I’ve gone deeply through your store and it looks so impressive i must say but while going through it, i discovered some things which i guess you don’t notice:
1- No Products Review; You can import products review to gain customers trust

2- FAQ page : They are a great way for customers to get quick answers to their questions, and may help to encourage them to purchase your products as they will have more confidence in your store after having their concerns addressed.
3- Retention funnel: this is a funnel that helps to nuture and manage the traffic visting your store, for example you need to set up a sign up form or pop up form by which you can be able to
generate the leads of subscribers after which we can now set up a campaign and News letter so that you can be able to reach out to your subscribers and let them know if there is New product to purchase, this will turn the visitors to potential buyers or customers. All these need to be done before you start running ads, which will now be the final work to properly.

I hope the above is useful to you.

Hey, congrats on launching your new shop!

Looks good! Nothing wrong with simple and minimal for now. Glad to see that you have a pixel installed and that you’re making yourself the face of the brand. That’s going to be your key to success in the long run: building up a community of fans. Looks like that’s already in the works from your IG account, so that’s more good news.

As for critique, the formatting of the paragraphs in your policy pages is a little wonky in some places.

For your home page, instead of having so many products shown so fast, before scrolling too far down, I’d put some more info about you, your shop, your mission, etc, so that first-time visitors get to know you and that you’re selling original stuff. That will help you stand apart from a lot of small brands.

Use any social proof you have openly on the site, especially since you don’t have any reviews yet. Get some comments on IG? Toss them on the site in a quote block somewhere. This will help establish authority and build credibility while you build up reviews from actual sales.

Lastly, I added over $35 of stuff to my cart but I wasn’t offered a free shipping option, just FYI. I was offered it at $50, so I think your table rates need to be tweaked. Also, on the checkout page I kept getting hit with a “Shop Pay Not Available” error.

Good luck to you!

Hello @KofukuArtStudio ,

This is Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

I did take a look at your website and found that all the product images on the pages are really cool and high-quality.

However, as a CRO Expert, I would like to suggest to you some of the minimal factors on your product pages that you can improve to increase the UX and UI of your online store.

1. Adjust the underline of the product titles

When checking some of your product pages, I noticed that the lines under your product title overlay with review stars. I think you should re-adjust the position of those lines so that there will be appropriate spaces between the lines and the review parts and your customer won’t get confused regarding UI issues.

2. Visualize payment methods on every product page

I can see that you have already placed an icon image at the end of your website to show the payment methods. Yet, it seems to be better if you also place those payment icons among the product details on product pages. You can place them under the price information. This will help enhance the customer experience when they have an intention of purchasing your products.

3. Provide a list of recently viewed items

Another way to increase user experience I’d like to suggest you should do is to include a list of customer’s recently viewed items. There might be some customers who want to get back to products they have found previously when they are on another product page. It’s because the customers want to compare or consider which one they should buy.

4. Display or link to a Return Policy and Delivery Information within the product page

You should always show information about the Return Policy and Delivery on every product page to not only express the transparency of your business but also raise the customer experience.

You can refer to the below product page demo screenshot:

Additionally, with Mother’s Day 2023 fast approaching, and also ranked as the third most significant holiday following Black Friday and Christmas, it is an opportune time to consider some compelling concepts for your business to take full advantage of this occasion.

1. Use a color palette associated with Mother’s Day

This kind of change makes your store more welcoming. You can refer to these pairs of colors:

  • Pastel Pink and Green: This color palette is soft, delicate, and feminine, making it a popular choice for Mother’s Day. It includes shades of light pink, blush, and pale green, which evoke feelings of tenderness, love, and springtime.
  • Red and White: This classic color combination is timeless and elegant, and it’s often used to symbolize the love and appreciation we have for our mothers. It’s a bold and impactful color palette that can be used to create a variety of different designs.
  • Lilac and Light Blue: This color palette is soft and soothing, with shades of pale purple and blue that are reminiscent of springtime flowers and clear skies. It’s a calming and peaceful color palette that’s perfect for creating a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere on Mother’s Day.

2. Offer special discount

Creating special deals during Mother’s Day event like bundles or 1+1 offers is one of the best ways to boost your sales. You can highlight them on your homepage to be visible as soon as visitors reach your page and make it easy to navigate through your product offerings.

3. Create gift guides or a special section with product recommendations

Creating gift guides or a product recommendation section can help increase engagement and sales on your Mother’s Day landing page. By organizing products by categories and themes, you can make it easier for shoppers to find the perfect gift for their mothers. Including product descriptions, images, and customer reviews can also help improve the shopping experience and boost conversion rates.

I hope that a few suggestions of mine will somehow be useful for you.

Wishing you all the best with your website and Good luck selling!

Hi Nini from @KofukuArtStudio ,

I hope you are doing great. I’m very glad that my suggestions can be your solution.

Regarding my suggestions and your questions, here’s my answer:

  • Underline part: This line comes from your theme. So if you want to remove this, you should contact the theme provider’s support team.
  • Recently viewed items: Please consider using functional apps on Shopify Apps Store. There’re many apps that can help you create this, you can search “recently viewed” in the search bar.
  • Visualize payment methods: You can just add the icon image of the payment method in the payment section like this page:

Regarding the page speed, I can see that your page speed is optimized for desktop but not for mobile.

You can see the suggestions from Google PageSpeed Insights on how to optimize your page speed. First of all, you should reduce the unused Javascript and optimize the images on your store. To compress the images, you can use free online tools such as tinypng.com

Also, using images in next-gen formats (like WEBG or AVIF) will have better compression than PNG or JPG. Or you can search and check our guide PageFly PageSpeed Optimization to have more suggestions.

I hope it helps and happy selling!

Warm regards,

Richard
