How can I improve my online boutique's marketing and layout?

Topic summary

Marketing challenges and website improvements for an online boutique, with a review of the linked site central to the discussion.

Key feedback on layout and UX:

  • Replace the large homepage image slider (rotating banner) with a static hero image or video to speed load and focus the brand.
  • Enrich product pages with detailed descriptions (materials, care), and clearly surface reviews/ratings and size charts to build trust.
  • PageFly (a Shopify page builder) reviewer initially missed some elements, then confirmed size charts and reviews are visible after rechecking.

Marketing guidance:

  • Expand social presence on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest; engage audiences with consistent content.
  • Given issues with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads and platform reliability, prioritize content creation over paid social ads.

Seller’s clarifications:

  • Reviews appear on the homepage and product pages; size charts are included. Persistent problems with FB/IG/Meta integrations remain despite support interactions.

Actions and status:

  • Confirmed visibility of reviews and size charts; recommended homepage simplification and richer product copy.
  • Strategic shift suggested toward content-driven marketing.
  • Discussion remains open; social media setup/integration issues are unresolved and next steps involve content strategy and site tweaks.

I have a store that I love!! It’s so fun to sell and add products! The issue I have is marketing. I’m not very good at it! Also I wonder if my store may need some fixing. Would anyone mind taking a minute to look it over my website and be very honest of what you think needs improved? www.crimsonsoulboutique.com Id really like to see this work as it brings me so much joy when others are happy. I don’t see that I will ever get rich with it but more of a life fulfilling business. I absolutely love it!

Hi,

This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App.

I can understand your passion for your online store, and it’s great to hear that you enjoy running it. Marketing can be a challenging aspect of any business, but with some effort and knowledge, it can be improved.

Regarding your website, I visited www.crimsonsoulboutique.com, and I can provide some feedback on the design and user experience. First off, I think the website looks clean and professional, and it’s easy to navigate. However, there are some areas where improvements could be made.

One aspect to consider is the website’s homepage. It currently displays a large image slider, which can be distracting and slow down the website’s load time. Instead, consider using a static image or video that showcases your products and brand.

Another area to improve is the product pages. While the product images are high quality, the descriptions are minimal, and there are no reviews or ratings available. Providing more detailed product descriptions, including size charts, materials, and care instructions, can help customers make informed purchasing decisions. Additionally, allowing customers to leave reviews and ratings can build trust and credibility with potential buyers.

Finally, regarding marketing, consider expanding your social media presence to reach a broader audience. Utilize platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest to showcase your products and engage with customers. You can also run targeted ads on these platforms to reach potential customers based on their interests and behaviors.

Overall, your website has a lot of potential, and with some tweaks and improvements, you can create a great user experience and increase sales. Keep in mind that running a successful business takes time, effort, and patience, but with your passion and dedication, you can make it work.

I hope this answer will be helpful to you!

Good luck,

Richard | PageFly Team

I appreciate your response and thank you for the comments and suggestions. I have some reviews on my home page at the bottom and shows up on those products as well. I also have size charts on my clothes. Which ones are you not seeing that on? I can go fix them because I may have missed a couple. As far as social media. I am on fb and IG but it has never worked right and meta tries to fix it but then ends up telling me it’s ok, but I know it isn’t.

Hi @Crimsonsoul ,

As I checked again, I can now see the size chart and review on product pages now.

Regarding the social media issue, as I assume that you’re talking about running Ads on those social platforms. And it is true that social ads are problematic. I suggest you focus more on content creation.

Social media mechanisms are built for sharing content and building engagement. Investing time into learning about content creation will be worth it.

I hope that you can gain more success and enjoy the process!
