How can I increase sales on my pet store website?

Hi Everyone,

My store is up and running, and has been for a while - however while we do get visitors we don’t get nearly enough sales (actually very little).

Would any of you in the Shopify Community mind taking a look at our website (wiggiespets.com) and offer some honest feedback? Would your purchase? If not, why not? How can we improve?

Thank you very much!

Hi @J-Mike1186 ,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder App.

Your website is beautifully designed and elegant. It’s clear that you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into creating a great online presence.

From my experience, I noticed a few things that could be improved on your website.

HOMEPAGE

1. Align the content

All the buttons should be aligned in a straight line.

Use the same icon size and align the text

2. Add Featured products

Featuring products means dedicating a section on your homepage for the specific product(s) that you want to draw attention to. This section is supposed to significantly increase traffic to these product pages and can redirect visitors to a different page immediately. For those reasons, the choice of what to feature in this section should be carefully considered.

PRODUCT PAGE

1. Add more product images

Upon entering a product page, people appreciate having at least a few different images to click through and tend to stay longer on pages that have more images.

Basically, each product needs at least 5 images to be properly evaluated, which could be grouped into 3 types:

PROMOTION

Mother’s Day campaign

As Mother’s Day draws near, and with many businesses already gearing up for the occasion, your offerings are ideally matched for this festive period. It’s strongly advised to implement these strategies to fully capitalize on the festivities.

Overall- Theme color: Opt for soft pastel colors such as light pink, lavender, mint green, and baby blue. These hues inspire emotions of affection, gentleness, and comfort, making them ideal for honoring mothers.

  • High-Quality Product Image: Use high-resolution images that showcase your products from multiple angles and in different contexts. Allow users to zoom in for a closer look to inspect details and quality.
  • Mobile responsiveness: Optimize your website for mobile devices to provide a seamless browsing experience across different screen sizes.
  • Layout: Maintain a straightforward layout that centers on the page’s main goal, be it showcasing a particular product, presenting a time-sensitive deal, or gathering email subscriptions…

That’s all of my feedback. Hope it helps to increase your conversion rate.

Cheers,

Kate | PageFly team

If I had a dog, I would definitely buy from here. The website design is extremely good. My only problem with it is that some of the product photos look unprofessional, but that’s the only thing I see :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so much for the feedback @PageFly-Kate . This is extremely helpful! We will work to fix these ASAP!

Hi @PageFly-Kate

You mention that the product pictures could be grouped into 3 types. Could you elaborate what those 3 types are? Thanks!

Hi @J-Mike1186 , You can consider these types of product images:
Give customers as close to an “in-store” experience with the product as possible.

  • Large multi-angle, detailed photos
  • Video of product in use
  • Provide ‘Lifestyle’ Images for Relevant Products
    Hope it helps!
