That would be great if it can work with the 2 apps I mentioned. When you say it checks the database, I’m hoping that means it checks the inventory or that is preferably worked in to only show SKUs in/out of stock stock (this automatically shows/doesn’t currently show to the customer if their chosen variation is/isn’t in stock). Please leave your contact information so I can connect with you. Thanks.
Topic summary
A merchant requests the ability to exceed Shopify’s 100 variant/SKU per product limit for use with DSers and CJ Dropshipping, noting that splitting products degrades the storefront experience. They seek a practical workaround to list products with more than 100 variations.
A developer proposes a custom app that bypasses the limit by managing variants in an external database while keeping Shopify as the storefront. Customer selections would query this database, providing a seamless front-end experience without Shopify’s variant cap.
Key elements of the proposed workaround:
- Own database not bound by Shopify’s 100-variant limit.
- Linking Shopify products to external variant data.
- Front end remains unchanged for shoppers.
The merchant asks whether this approach can integrate with DSers and CJ Dropshipping and accurately reflect inventory (show only in-stock SKUs and hide out-of-stock options). They request direct contact to explore implementation.
Status: No resolution yet. The thread pivots toward a potential custom-app solution, pending confirmation of integration and inventory handling.
