Hi,
Newbie who’s getting to grips with Shopify.
I have a product description where I want to insert a URL to a different product. Trying to avoid manually inserting the link. Is there a way via shortcodes of returning a URL from a product handle?
Goal: Insert a link to another product inside a product description without manual pasting. Seeks a way (e.g., a shortcode) to generate the product URL from its handle (the URL-friendly identifier).
Update: A community member shared a short screen recording demonstrating a method on the Shopify Dawn theme and asked the requester to verify if it works. The tutorial is hosted externally and appears to show the necessary steps.
Details: No explicit code, Liquid snippets, or written steps were posted in the thread; the guidance is contained in the video. No in-text confirmation that a “shortcode” exists was provided.
Status: Awaiting confirmation from the requester; no verified resolution yet. Key open question: whether the video’s approach satisfies handle-based URL insertion within product descriptions.
