How can I limit cheese delivery to local areas only?

Hello!

We are a fine foods store that sells a variety of products–including prepackaged cheeses. With the weather getting warmer here, we are looking to restrict the purchase of cheese from our website to ONLY Local Delivery and Local Pickup (because who wants a bag of melted cheese from across the country?).

So, in essence, I want to have our cheese products only available for purchase to addresses within our Local Delivery radius or for Local Pickup at our store – with something preventing addresses outside of our Local Delivery radius (requiring Shipping) from completing their order with cheese products in their cart.

Is there a way to do this through Shopify alone, or do I need to install a third-party app to manage this restriction? We’re trying to avoid third-party apps as much as possible, but I realize this may be the only way to make it happen.

It is very much possible to do this within Shopify without any third-party app.

You can create a custom shipping profile and add products to that profile.

Thank you for this! I had done this method originally, but was advised it might mess with our theme’s code. It seems to be working without issue!
