Hello,
I have an E-commerce store is where I sell hair extensions, wigs, false eyelashes and soon to be make up and my question is more specifically for like makeup. I will be selling make up like foundations, concealers, lip stick and so on, the dropshipper I will be using has each products listed with its own SKU, an example would be there is a bronzer that I want to sell in my store, this bronzer has 4 shades but each shade has its own SKU and I know that I would have to import each one of those shades separately to my store but is there a way to have it listed like Bronzer with a description but then have all of the shades listed as a separate variant but all under bronzer? Does that make sense? That way when someone is visiting my store and they click on the bronzer there is a swatch or drop down menu listing the different shades for them to choose.
In shopify products do not have skus, variants have skus.
Even a product without variants has a single hidden variant to represent that product.
It’s a default behavior on shopify for avariants to be part of a product.
But I think there there may be some detail and organization being left out of the description for others to understand.
If there’s some situation that prevents you from adding variants to a single product you would need to elaborate with specifics or examples.
Good hunting.
Hi @caitymarie2 One simple solution is that you can have a unique product in Shopify for every individual variant.
Good morning PaulNewton,
I am confused by your answer, it is possible that its to early for my brain to understand because I have not had my coffee yet, but I was not referring to Shopify products having a SKU the dropshipper I will be using for the make up and skin care has its own SKU. Like the example I mentioned in my post I was using the bronzer, again the SKU is what my supplier has not Shopify,
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ02- is Pecan
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ03- is Mocha
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ01- is Caramel
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ04- is Tawny
See how each shade has a different SKU, again my supplier not Shopify, when I am ready to export import them to my Shopify store they will be a separate product; once they are imported to my store is there a way to have one bronzer listed with each shade as a variant? I have attached what I am talking about, my other store is where I sell coffee and one flavor of coffee has different variants, like size and grind, my coffee supplier has them listed like that I did not list them like that. The supplier for the make up does not have them as one product with different shades, again each shade has its own SKU from my supplier not Shopify.
Good morning,
I do not understand what you mean by a unique product, the supplier I will be using has a bronzer, like the example I mentioned in my post, listed like this
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ01 which is a shade called Caramel
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ02 which is a shade called Pecan, there are 2 other ones but I just wanted to give an idea of what I meant. Each shade its own SKU from the supplier, is there a way once I get it imported to my Shopify store, I have not done that yet, to have it listed in my products as
BRONZER
SKU: 7943-BLNK-MB-01-02-BR-BRZ01
with the different shades listed? I have attached a screenshot of my other store where it has the different variants of one flavor of coffee, like the size of the bag of coffee and the type of grind of coffee. I hope that helps to understand what I am trying to do.
