I renewed by domain name through Shopify a few months ago and reopened my Shopify Shop. For several months I have been trying to add my domain to my shop however, it it says “A store with that domain name already exists.” Okayyyy many moons ago I did have a previous Shopify store and Shopify support is telling me to access that shop and remove my domain but, it’s not there! Is there a way I can find out where my domain is so, I can remove it and start making $$$ instead of spending it? I did do a WHOIS lookup but, I don’t have a clue how to figure where it is. In advance this old lady appreciates any help you can provide!

Could you let me know if you originally purchased this domain from Shopify or a third-party registrar?
You mentioned you had renewed it via Shopify here, but I’d just like to confirm so we can check on how to proceed.
For domains that were purchased via Shopify, we should be able to get this removed from the other store for you internally.
If you can reach out via our Help Centre here again, let them know you don’t have access to the older store but they can check to see that you have paid for this domain.

I originally got my domain from Goggle (it seems like years ago). When it lapsed I purchased it through Shopify. Let is lapse again and then recently purchased it back from Shopify again. Sounds like I am a real loser, however, I’ve had years of bad health and I do believe that is all in the past now!
