How can I make custom images clickable on my homepage?

Topic summary

Issue: A store owner using Shopify’s Debut theme wants custom Canva-made images on the homepage to link directly to specific collections without displaying a mandatory heading. They report the images aren’t clickable as intended, and when adding a collection block it forces a heading they don’t want.

Context: Debut is a Shopify theme; Canva is used to design images with a “Shop now” button overlay. The goal is image-based navigation to collections while suppressing default headings.

Latest update: A responder requested diagnostic details to investigate:

  • Store URL
  • Specific page URL showing the issue
  • Storefront password (if applicable)
  • Alternatively, share a safe preview link for an unpublished theme via a provided tutorial link.

Status: No fix provided yet. Next step is for the store owner to share the requested access details so a tailored solution (e.g., making image blocks linkable and hiding/removing headings) can be proposed. Discussion remains open.

I’m currently updating my “Debut” theme. I create custom images via Canva with a shop now button, however I’m trying to use the custom images on my homepage and have it clickable so the custom can be directed to the exact collection. My images are big clickable or when I do add the collection it’s having me type a heading which I don’t want. Any way I can fix or resolve this issue? Thanks!

Hello @Amckinley ,

Please share:

  • your store URL;
  • page URL with the issue you mention;
  • storefront password (if your store has one).

If the store is not online yet, please follow this quick tutorial to learn how to safely and temporarily share an offline/unpublished theme URL.

Kind regards,
Diego
