How can I make my contact us form function properly?

It’s better to follow what @KetanKumar said: use the theme’s contact form.

To do so:

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Theme Customizer
  2. Within the theme editor, click on the Contact Us link, on your top nav.
  3. Now click “Add section” on the left menu and select “Contact Form”. Then save it.
  4. Now go to Pages → Contact Us and remove the contact form using the page editor.
