How can I make this small Shopify merchandise store feel more complete?

store url

store/product description

This store is the official Crowny merchandise store. The collection is intentionally small. It is meant to be a demo store and to offer a small range of Crowny merchandise rather than become a large retail catalogue.

What feedback do you want?

The store currently feels a little lighter than I would like, and I want it to feel more complete without adding lots of products.
• Is the store’s purpose clear enough from the products and its connection to Crowny?
• What would make the small collection feel stronger: bundles, limited drops, better storytelling, or more brand content?
• Do the design and product pages build enough brand identity and trust?
• Does the loyalty program add to the experience, or does it feel too heavy for a small merch/demo store?

Hey @Marcus_Crowny

Welcome to the community!

Good startup but I think you need to spend more time in building your store. The store currently looks like as if it was built in 10 minutes. I will highlight a couple of mistakes but also worth checking out Store Feedback board since you’ll also get some great suggestions from there as well.

  1. What’s the point of adding a search in the menu when there’s already a search icon?

  2. There’s no About Us in the menu. How are people gonna know about the brand and what it’s mainly focused on?

  3. No reviews anywhere. It’s just a simple product page. Trust factor matters more than you can even imagine.

  4. Populate the website especially home page with more sections. 2 sections on the homepage are not enough.

Overall, you need to spend more time in the site. Maybe, try searching for some drop websites that similar to your reference and you can take a example from there as well. Happy to help if you want me to give your website the right direction.

Good luck with the store. You got some work to do.

Cheers,
Moeed

Welcome Marcus! Hi, Nice tiny store, just feels a little vacant right now. Here’s what I would change :

  1. Purpose : Not yet obvious - the visitor can view the stuff but there is no description of what Crowny is or how points work. Fix with one webpage section that answers that in two phrases.

  2. Bundles, drops, and storytelling : Skip the bundles (they’re fighting the “intentionally small” concept). Get the drops - limited runs, replenishment dates, waitlist. A tiny inventory feels curated, not thin. Scarcity does that. The one-line “why this exists” paragraph every product is helpful, too.

  3. Identity/trust of brand : This is the main deficit here - no About page, no loyalty explanation, no reviews. This is the difference between “small store” and “real brand”. Begin with those three.

  4. Loyalty program fit : good, but undetectable. Call it out on product sites (“earn 50 points”) and offer it a dedicated explainer page, rather than a phrase in the homepage tagline.

  5. Priority order : About page + loyalty explainer > drop framing on homepage > reviews once you get a good base here, just needs to be filled in and you are good to go!

I know you don’t want to hear it, but the store absolutely needs more products.

Apparel is one of the categories with the highest average SKU count, and it will be very difficult for you to gain any meaningful traction unless you add at least a few more designs, colors, and product types. (I know from experience – been building in apparel for ~10 years.)

If you’re wholly opposed to adding more products, then I would focus less on the “store” because, frankly, you probably don’t want to drive traffic to the home page.

Instead, I would focus on turning the product pages into more of a landing page feel. That means adding sections for brand / about us, lifestyle content, reviews, product details (with closeups of the high-quality stitching, etc).

To answer your remaining questions more specifically:

  1. The store’s purpose is not clear. Although, how could it be? It’s not really communicated anywhere.
  2. I wouldn’t bother with bundles or limited drops. Better storytelling and more brand content would be hugely valuable.
  3. Brand identity and trust are probably the two biggest missing factors here.
  4. Not sure what loyalty program you’re referring to, but I definitely wouldn’t bother with one in this case.

HI @Marcus_Crowny

You said it yourself, “it feels a little lighter”, and I agree. But not just a little, there is no content, text, explanation. I visited the site and had no idea what it is about. Just from your community description saw you have the app.

And in one product description saw " Conquer your fears and embrace the unknown with the legendary Crowny hoodie." so I must ask, what fears? Fears of hoodies ? And why it is legendary already?

I mean you have a perfect opportunity to advertise your app more, but also for first time visitors you must have some story, some explanation what you do. If you have small amount of products you have to focus on brand, but also follow same rule like everyone else. More trust signals, more credibility, more focus on product page. See example here Massage Insoles – Soothing Comfort & Pain Relief for Every Step | Stepprs and see what blocks you could and should use.

You have more work, even for demo store. But why not use it also as a demo for your app? Show all features, plus screenshots from app.

Good luck with app and the store.

Hello,

If you want to have only a few products, I would use big custom-made banners for each product, so the homepage has more content and it doesn’t look so empty like now.

You can add some history or about us info on the homepage too. Use images to tell more about your brand and story.

You can make a nice looking store even with a couple of products, IMHO.

Good luck!

Hi Moeed,

Thanks for your respons.

Built in 10 minutes? Well not exactly, but I have to admit that we spent most of the time to the making the photo’s.

I understand your points. But we do have a website with the data you are referring to. I need to find out how I can make the simple store more integrated

Hi Priyasha,

Thanks for your response. Like I answered to Moeed, some information is on our website, but I’m struggling with getting it more integrated.

About the undetectable loyalty program: I understand what you write, but at this moment we use features in the loyalty app that give points in another way, that fits our current needs. But it makes sense to also use our common features.

Hi upprevapps, interesting idea, the big custom-made banners for each product

Hey, dig the community angle. “Exclusively for community members” is a strong hook.

You asked if the store builds enough trust, so I looked at the hoodie page with that in mind. Two things stood out.

There are no reviews or social proof anywhere, and on an €80 hoodie, that’s usually the main thing that makes a first-time buyer hesitate. They can’t tell if anyone else is happy with it yet.

Second, I couldn’t find any returns or refund info on the product page itself, just a terms link in the footer, so someone spending €80 has no easy answer to “What if it doesn’t fit?”

Adding a couple of early reviews and a short returns line right on the page would probably do more for trust than anything visual.

Happy to send a fuller list if useful. No pressure.

I like the concept. It feels clean and premium, and it’s obvious this isn’t meant to be a large retail store. I think it currently feels more like a product catalog than a brand experience. With only two products (a hoodie and a tee), you need the story to do more of the heavy lifting.

A few suggestions:

  • Tell the Crowny story earlier. Since the merchandise represents the Crowny brand, I’d add a dedicated “Why Crowny Merch?” or “Built for the Community” section on the homepage.
  • Create a strong home page journey. Right now, visitors quickly reach the products, but there isn’t much content in between. A few well-designed sections explaining the brand, highlighting product quality, and showcasing the community would make the store feel much more complete.

  • Expand the product pages. The product descriptions are solid, but I’d also include sections for materials, craftsmanship, shipping, FAQs, and why some should choose Crowny merchandise beyond just the design.

One thing I noticed is that the store could benefit from more conversion-focused sections. If your current theme feels a bit limited, I’d recommend trying Section Kit. It makes it easy to add sections like brand story, FAQs, testimonials, trust badges, logo sliders, icon grids, and image-with-text layouts without modifying your theme. Whether using around $400 to $500 USD theme, use Section Kit, where section contain $3 to $9 USD. Section Kit is easy to use; just drag and drop, and your section is ready. Those additions would help the store feel richer while keeping the product catalog intentionally small.

Overall, I don’t think you need more products right now. You need more reasons to connect with the brand. A stronger narrative and a few additional content sections would make the store feel much more complete while still supporting the “exclusive merch” concept.

Hello @Marcus_Crowny,

Great website! I really like the photos/videos for each product, honestly, it’s a huge plus that they’re not AI. Super high quality, and it gives an expensive feel. I like how you showcased your products, it shows that you care about how people perceive your brand. My suggestion would be to expand the clothing line. The website is great, but it looks a little empty, which is very reasonable since you’re just starting out.
