Hi we sell our products in groups of 1, 5, or 20. We use product variants to create the different pack sizes. We want to track inventory, but we want it so that all the variants are considered 1 product in our warehouse rather than 3 different products.
For example, if they buy the 20 pack, we want to reduce inventory levels of the 5 pack and the 1 pack, because in reality they are all the same.
By default, Shopify tracks the inventory of each as totally separate products. Is there an app that will do this for us?

You Need to have a base Unit product, i.e in your case 5 pack or the 1 pack, then other like 20 pack would become 4x base unit or 20x base unit. As these I feel are related products they can be variants of a single product in shopify. If not then separate products is also fine.
Next in order to connect the inventory and automatically deduct inventory in base unit you need an app like this, it’s a free app and you can create unlimited connected inventory products.
Next in app, just select the bigger unit products and in composition map it to base unit product appropriately. Repeat this process for every product.
When the customer order will come app will modify the order as per your composition rules.
